Thanks for the follow back! I love your stories and I totally squealed like a fangirl when I saw that you started following me lol. :)
Aww well thanks for following me in the first place! And thank you for reading my little stories. Tumblr is kind of crazy and full of so much weird crap, but I really enjoyed looking through your blog. It’s nice to meet people with similar tastes. And your avi is GAWW-JUSS! Your hair is so pretty!
I know you get compliments all the time, but I'd just like to say that your stories are fantastic. I've been reading them since "Jimmy The Boy Next Door". I wish you all the best in your writing career! You're truly amazing!
Aww thanks. No matter how many compliments I get, it still makes me smile to see comments from my readers. I am so glad you enjoy my little stories (and I apologize for the awkwardness that is Jimmy. First stories are always so cringe-worthy). I’m trying to get something published soon, so keep those fingers crossed.
Thanks so much for taking the time to send some kind words my way. Much love!
Now that I have your attention, some kind soul pointed out that I should make a poll and bug you guys about your favorite couple. Well, I’m terribly bored and decided “what the hell”. So here it is. Vote for your favorite Nerd4music couple.
Whichever couple has the most votes by November 5th, I’ll write a holiday-themed one shot featuring that particular couple! Look at me, getting into the holiday spirit already.
So I’ve finally reached 100 posts on here. Which is a feat for me, because I hardly ever have time to sit down and blog. Well, I do but I’m always afraid too many posts will get really obnoxious after awhile. I’m pretty sure I don’t have that much to say to post 15-20 times a day.
Anywho, I’m still working on Edie Ch. 05. Apparently my muse is way too wrapped up in drinking beer and playing video games because he is NOT cooperating. No worries; I’ll whip his ass into shape. Hopefully things will start wrapping up with this installation no later than Tuesday. I don’t want to sit too long on this chapter because I hope to finish this series by Halloween. It’s 8 parts which means I need to hustle.
Speaking of hustle, there’s a SLIGHT chance I’ll bring back Charlie and Gavril. Not sure in what capacity but it’s something I’ve been mulling over. I really hadn’t planned to take that story any further but I wasn’t expecting the amount of positive feedback about my Russian and his lady. It makes me smile.
hey! you must get this all the time, but I love your stories. You should totally take a poll and see which characters or couples the readers liked the most. Just a thought. Can't wait for the new chapter of Getting Over Edie!
Hi there. I do get a lot of love but as a narcissistic yet terribly insecure writer, it’s good for my ego to hear it often (LOL, kidding!). Hmm, a poll you say? That actually sounds like a cool idea. I’ll have to think about it.
Hi Nerd4music :) I'M A BIG FAN OF YOURS! YAAAY!!!!! Sooo, I was moved by all your stories, most specially the story of D. RYAN and the DJ GIRL!! You really deserve a 5 STAR all the way. Keep writing, I'll look forward for more of your AMAZING stories. I'll spread the news *wink wink*
Thanks so much! I’m glad you like my stories. Derek and Tegan were such fun to write and it’s nice to hear how much everyone likes them. I’m working on some new projects so stay tuned. And thanks for spreading the word!
could u tell me of any other good writers on literotica that write interracial stories featuring ethnic women besides soular and tangledinyou? I've checked our secretfantasy and jazzmathews but wasn't huge fans of their stories
what is the hottest scene you've ever read or written
Ooh, I like this one.
The Hottest scene I’ve ever read: This is a tough one. I’ve read a lot of erotica. A LOT.
The Hottest scene I’ve ever written: Hands down, Charlie and Gavril in The Long Weekend. I always cringe a bit when it comes to writing naughty scenes. Each character I write is different and sometimes it’s easy to get stuck repeating certain phrases. Sometimes what sounds great in your head is probably disastrous on paper. Plus, I hadn’t written a proper sex scene in about two years. I was really nervous.
After two full days of sulking and avoidance, I put on my Big Girl Pants and got to work. I am supremely proud of that piece of hotness. If you look back at my stories, you can see the progression in my love scenes. They start off clumsy and awkward (oh god, I can’t even read that ‘Jimmy’ story without cringing) and get better every time.
which of your literary characters would you like to revisit if you had the time
Well I plan to write another installment in my Hartley series in January, but I don’t think that counts.
I would have to say Nate and Jamie from “Used”. While Tegan and Derek hold the “Best Couple Ever” title, I really liked the dynamic of Nate and Jamie in Used. Honestly, the story at the end felt a bit rushed and I would love to have a do-over and give them a proper finale.
In my initial draft Nate and Jamie, despite being in love, weren’t able to overcome their obstacles. Jamie had a lot of emotional baggage she wasn’t ready to let go of and Nate couldn’t wait around for that. They parted, not for forever, but just for now. It was fitting for them and quite realistic in my opinion. Sometimes there just isn’t a happily ever after and though we may have the best intentions and love someone deeply, the circumstances are just too great to overcome.
Needless to say I panicked, worrying that readers would rage and cuss me out. I had several emails from people saying just that. Nate and Jamie HAD to be together. I was still naive and unsure about my work so to please the masses I slapped on a somewhat happier ending, which was panned by most people who deemed it “too rushed”.
I learned a lesson. Sometimes it’s better to say “fuck it” and go with your gut. I would love to redeem Nate and Jamie, and give them the ending they deserved the first time, and maybe do a follow-up to their tale. You never know…they might get their act together this time.
if you could shadow any author who would you choose and why? published or not
Ahh…I would love to shadow James Patterson because my dad is a huge fan of his and he would totally squeal like a fangirl if I sent him an autographed copy of his works.
Okay, so that was kind of a silly answer. I suppose it would have to be Robert Kirkman, the writer of my favorite comic series, The Walking Dead. I am a HUGE comic book geek and this series is my crack. Seriously. I will stay up late in the wee hours reading it. The tv series started off promising, but grew kind of dull. I’m hoping for better things in the 2nd season because it has an amazing cast.
I think it would be awesome to create my own graphic novel series. The Walking Dead is just fantastic. The zombies are almost a side plot when considering the emotional toll the characters go through to survive not only the undead but the unforgiving and cruel nature of man. I would love to pick Kirkman’s brain (get it, zombies love BRAAAAINS—lol sorry I couldn’t resist) and get some pointers.
Oh boy. This question…at the moment, no. Relationships and I are not the best of friends. Things end badly, and I’m left confused and with a lot of questions (and sometimes pent up rage).
I’ve had a connection with a particular fellow for nearly two years. He was a coworker and we developed a really solid friendship. There was always a bit of flirtation between the two of us but everyone around us knew there was something more. We are very much alike. We’d both ended very serious relationships that kind of left us battered and bruised. I wasn’t looking for anything more than a good male friend but one thing led to another and I fell…HARD.
We had so much in common. Our birthdays were only a week a part, we had the same ridiculous sense of humor. It was obvious he was attracted to me, but for whatever reason just kept denying it.
Long story short, it’s been an emotional shitshow with him for awhile, culminating on my last night in town before I moved away with him crying and blurting out through his tears that he loved me…which he promptly took back.
Since then, I haven’t heard from him. It’s been tough, but I’m trying to move on. And by move on, I mean write a story about it. My unfinished story, Giving Up the Ghost? That’s about him. See why it was so hard for me to finish? My own story isn’t finished, not by a long shot.
I suppose my ultimate playlist would be an assortment of songs organized by mood and genre. Punk for my angry days, The Smiths when I’m feeling lovelorn, Beach House & Chrisette Michelle for sunny Sunday mornings, Portishead and Adele for drunk and smoky nights alone, 80s R&B for nostalgia, Soca and reggae for when I’m homesick, The Weeknd and Frank Ocean when I’m pining for my crush, Kid Cudi when I’m on my solo dolo flow, french electro/club/house/progressive for Raving out, dubstep when I want to zone out, hip-hop when I want to vibe out, Kanye because he’s an innovator, silly pop music when I’m getting ready for the club, my dance club hits because I’m really a bitter old queen/gay man at heart…
Dammit, it’s so hard for me to answer this. Just know it would have plenty of Depeche Mode, The Cure, Jimmy Eat World, Bauhaus, Dum Dum Girls, Theophilus London, etc. Okay I have to stop or else I’ll name everything in my library.
Oh, hockey you say? My next oneshot will be for you. And I'm sorry that you are a Mess fan (phillies fan here).
Ouch. And here I thought we were destined for a beautiful friendship. A Phillies fan? I don’t know if I can handle that. I’ve been a Mets fan since birth. (1986 was a good year!). Younger me was completely convinced that I was going to marry Darryl Strawberry.
And I refuse to hear any words against my boo David Wright.
But I’m excited about hockey. And your one-shot sounds awesome. I had no idea there were so many fine ass hockey players. Good lord, I’ve been missing out.
I try to limit my work to just Lit for plagiarism purposes. I’ve had my work stolen before and it’s made me hesitant to post anywhere else. I have considered posting at The Chamber, though. There’s no wait time for story approval and I really like that. Who knows…I might do a few one-shots over there.
Well after graduating with my Masters I took a break. I worked at a bar, which was fun, but not my career.
I moved back home with the parents and now I’m deep into the job hunting process. I’m actually planning to head back to school, either for law school or another Masters. Right now I’m working on creating my music blog/website/podcast show and getting my novel off the ground. I’m lucky to have such understanding parents who were willing to take my nomad ass back in. I’m not too worried. I’ve been doing a lot of freelance work. I’m young and the job market is tough. I’ll find something soon. But the alternative (going back to school) isn’t too bad either.
who are some of your favorite authors published or not
I’m a classics kind of bookworm.
Bret Easton Ellis
I really like J.R. Ward’s Brotherhood series. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, too. Not like a creepy crazy one. I got the first three books many moons ago (for my 13th birthday, way back in 2000) and it’s been love ever since. I don’t read a lot of romance books (shocker), but I’m always willing to read new things. Honestly I read so much, and so many things…it’s hard to pick favorites.
As for unpublished authors, I love the ladies at the Chamber and my fellow Lit authors. Violette Dubrinsky and Billy London are published but we started out on Lit together, so I will always have a soft spot for them. Plus, they are fantastic writers. I love Jazz Matthews. Good lord, that woman can write the hell outta an Alpha male. There’s so many talented authors on Lit (EroticLitKitty, TheDuskyGirl, soular, Kaia aka TangledinYou). I have love for all of them.
After “Edie” the bulk of my writing time will be focused on my first novel. I made a promise to a very kickass lady that I would have a draft by the end of the year. I’m taking my still-unfinished story “Giving Up the Ghost” and giving it proper novel treatment. I think it’s time to finish it, and it’s perfect material for my first book.
I also have a non-romance book in the works, that’s kind of close to my heart.
As for free reads, I’d say it’s high time I revisit my Hartley series. That damn Carrie is still single and causing trouble. I need to fix that. :)
when will getting over edie be finished as a whole
I’m looking at mid-October. I’m setting a realistic goal, because with my schedule it’s hard sometimes to focus on my writing. I’m about seven pages into Chapter 5, which will probably end up about 20-22 pages. I’m going to try and submit Ch. 5 by Wednesday or Thursday.
I tend to take on too many projects at the same time. The Long Weekend was supposed to be a quick writing exercise to stretch my legs, so to speak and it ended up being nearly 70 pages. But I’m very proud of that story because it was a chance to prove myself. I was having serious doubts about writing love scenes, since I hadn’t written one in almost two years.
Charlie and Gavril were my test couple, because I’m bringing out some spectacular shit for Grady and Arden. You won’t be disappointed. I’m sorry if the wait is so long, but I’d rather be honest than keep you waiting.
Haha, I love this question. It really brings out my music snob. I can’t really give anyone the “worst…ever” title but there are a lot of things in music I just don’t like.
I really hate Animal Collective. Every hipster I know completely jizzes over them, but I never understood the appeal.
Jessie J…she’s just annoying
Katy Perry…essentially just a walking pair of boobs and a microphone. But the Teenage Dream song was catchy.
Most of the popular dubstep. It was fun for a while, but dub isn’t something I listen to on the regular and it can get really redundant. There are still some sick Dubstep DJs out.
weird rap/rock/nu-metal. I’m looking at you, Korn and Limp Bizkit.
I can’t stand Kreayshawn. Not because she’s white. It’s because her flow is godawful. There are some really talented white female rappers like Iggy Azalea and Snow Tha Product. Kreayshawn is a tacky gimmick
I knew I was gonna go overboard with this question…
First question of 2: If you could ask someone to write a fic/story for you, what would it be?
Hmm…well that’s a tough one. A while back someone asked if they could write a spin-off featuring some of my characters from the Hartley series. It was a strange request that ultimately didn’t pan out.
As for my request, I would love a sports-themed story. I write about music A LOT (surprise) and while I love sports, I haven’t paid tribute as much as I should. I’m a big Mets fan (and I’ve been slacking off this season) and I love college basketball and soccer. I’m starting to get into hockey too, which is kind of exciting.
My favorite place? I’d like to say New York, but as much as I love my city, my college town has my heart. I had some of the best (and worst) years of my life in Morgantown. It definitely changed my opinions and shaped me into the person I am today. Wherever I go, WVU and Morgantown will always be my home. Let’s GOOOO Mountaineers!
I haven’t seen the rest of the world yet. I really want to travel as soon as I can stop living in Broke College Student mode. But I would love to go to London, Ireland, Dubai, India, Botswana, Egypt, and of course my mother’s home island TRINIDAD.
I’ve been asked to do this several times, but I’ve been so busy I never really had the opportunity. But as I’m moving ahead of my schedule, I’m taking some time to answer your questions.
I’m having a Q&A session with my readers. Inbox me your questions and I will post the answers Friday evening at 8PM. I think it’s a fun way for you guys to get to know me, and I’ll be asking you some questions as well.
And it can be ANYTHING. Double points for extremely random Qs. You can start submitting them now, but remember I won’t post the answers until 8PM on Friday!
I hate editing. It’s such a hassle, but I suppose well worth it in the end.
So many revisions, but the story is about 12 pages away from the COMPLETED STAGE. I had to extend it just a little further to add in a few juicy scenes.
Its official title is The Long Weekend.
The story is inspired by music from one of my favorite artists at the moment, The Weeknd. If you haven’t heard his stuff before, please check him out.
I am so damn excited for you guys to read this. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a lighthearted fluff piece. I promise after this, it’s back to writing about Grady and Arden and all that emotional drama!
